Violent Storm is a classic side-scrolling beat 'em up where you choose one of three street fighters—Wade, Boris, or Kyle—to battle through waves of thugs. Your objective is to clear each stage by defeating all enemies using a combination of basic attacks, jump kicks, and powerful special moves. Each character has unique strengths: Wade is balanced, Boris is strong but slow, and Kyle is fast with long-range kicks. Use punches and grapples to thin out crowds, and save your special attack (activated by pressing two buttons) for when you're surrounded, as it damages all nearby enemies at the cost of some health. In the early stages, focus on learning enemy patterns and conserving health by avoiding cheap hits from weapons like pipes and knives dropped by foes. As you progress, the challenge increases with stronger enemies and bosses who require careful dodging and timed attacks. During tense moments, keep moving to avoid being cornered and use environmental objects like barrels as weapons. The core loop involves advancing to the right, fighting gangs, and defeating the stage boss to rescue Kathy.
